Our client is expanding its operations and organizing a revitalized Quality Assurance department at its Edmonton, AB plant. The following position will be the hands on leader to take the department and company to the next step in its dynamic growth.
The Quality Assurance Manager is a member of the senior management team of the Edmonton facility and reports to the C.O.O. The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for the following activities, directly or in supervision of their staff in the Quality Assurance department:
- Quality Management programs
- HACCP program
- Liaison with the CFIA Inspector in Charge and area CFIA area management
- Liaison with private label customer Quality Assurance staff
- Primary contact with all 3rd party audit firms
- Member of the Recall committee
- Microbiological review
The ideal candidate will have a degree in Food Science or a related science discipline and extensive experience in food industry quality assurance, preferably in a CFIA registered meat facility. Competency in both written and spoken English is important as well as knowledge of Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, Outlook.
